June Oral Health Month: Coloring Sheet Fun

When was the last time you actually sat down and talked about oral health as a family? We give a lot of time and attention to schoolwork, housework, sports, and activities. We all want successful, well-rounded children, and sometimes it is easy to overlook the "why" in what we teach our children.

Spending a little time educating them with the "why" of oral health care puts them in a position of being able to choose for themselves on how and when to care for their teeth as they grow older. Neglect often results in the negative consequence of a cavity, bleeding gums, or mouth sores. We want to do all we can to avoid those problems, but when we offer an explanation of what can happen when they don't care for their mouths, they can have "buy-in" with their own health care. This month we will be offering several tools to help you teach your family about great oral healthcare tips.

Here is a fun coloring sheet that can kick off the topic of "why" it is important to care for your teeth.
