April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month

April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month. We will be sharing several tips and informational articles throughout the month because we care about your health and your future. Oral cancer is increasing every year. We want to be part of your oral health care team and help inform you to make the best decisions for your health and the health of your family members.

Did you know that Dr. Clark and our team members screen for oral cancer every time you come for your a six-month checkup? It may not seem like much, but this simple exam could save your life.

According the guidelines of the American Dental Association, the simple exam includes your lips, cheek lining, gums, the front part of your tongue, the floor of your mouth and the roof of your mouth, including your tonsils, the back section of your tongue and where your tongue attaches to the bottom of your mouth. Dr. Clark will also feel your jaw and neck for any lumps or abnormalities.
