Halloween is right around the corner, and it goes without saying that kids everywhere are already dreaming of those heavy, candy laden trick-or-treat buckets!  To help your child stay cavity free this Halloween, make sure that he brushes and flosses after eating those sweet treats.
If you are concerned about the amount of candy your child will be receiving you can follow some simple guidelines or suggestions offered by Tammy Davenport, at About.com in an article entitled, “10 Fun Alternatives to Halloween Candy.”
She suggests that as parents we can become part of the solution by offering sugar free alternatives for your trick-or-treaters.
Here are the some of the alternatives she offers:
1. Sugar free gum
2. Vampire teeth
3. Halloween stickers
4. Party favor sunglasses
5. Small cans of playdoh
6. Noisemakers
7. Pencils with Halloween erasers
8. Halloween bouncy balls
9. Small bottles of bubbles

Happy Halloween to one and all and may you
 enjoy a “decay” free holiday!
